The 6th annual Deighton Cup was held at the Hastings Racecourse on Saturday July 26th, 2014. Named after the first settler of Vancouver’s Gastown, John “Gassy Jack” Deighton, the event featured some of his favourite past-times: horse racing, cigars, alcohol and women.
There was plenty of each at this classy affair, which was attended by young stylish socialites from the Vancouver area. Put together by the Social Concierge, Cocktails & Canapes Catering + Events and Mile’s End Motors, The Deighton Cup was a beautifully organized event that will have its patrons talking about it for weeks!
Cocktails & Canapes provided a lobster roll lunch accented with very addicting handmade potato chips while the drinks were flowing thanks to Ketel One Vodka, Veuve Clicquot and Whistler Brewing. Ladies were dressed up in their finest dresses and best hats and the fellas had on their tailored suits and bow ties. Everyone enjoyed the food, drinks and cigars in the gorgeous Vancouver under the Veuve Clicquot VIP tent, around the Ketel One Vodka bar and sitting on the grass in the Mile’s End Motors “Field of Dreams”. Mile’s End Motors provided many “dream worthy” exotic cars that they featured in the Field of Dreams.
